Hae-Won Chang is one of the leading pianists and piano professors in Korea. She obtained B.A. and M.A. at the Piano Departement College of Music at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She continued her piano studies at the Frankfurt State Misikhochschule. She was the First Korean to be awarded the Konzertexamen Diploma and she has won various prizes, including First Prize at the Korean National Piano Competition.

Since 1957, she has enjoyed a busy career as a teacher and performer in Korea and other countries in Asia, America and Europe with annual concert tours and engagements at home and abroad. She has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras and in solo piano recitals, as well in numerous music festivals. She has served as member of the Jury at many International Piano Competitions such as: Vianna da Motta (Portugal), Pilar Bayona (Spain), Pancho Vladigerov (Bulgaria), ASIA International Chopin Piano Competition (Japan), ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition (Malaysia), ASEAN International Concerto Competition (Indonesia), and many others.

Prof. Hae-Won Chang is a President of EWON Cultural Center in Seoul, and President of ASIA International Summer Piano Academy in Cheonan (Korea). For her outstanding musicianship and contribution to music education in Korea culture she has received the Presidential award, the Korean National Award for Culture and Arts of Korea.

Prof. Chang has recorded 11 different CDs for NAXOS and Marco Polo with the famous piano pieces by J. S. Bach, D. Scarlatti, J. N. Hummel, G. Pierne, J. Ibert, etc. She established EWON Cultural Center in Seoul, and currently she is Professor Emeritus of Ewha Womans University and Chairman of the Piano Society of Korea which boasts of over 1000 members.
