Tran Thu Ha is one of leading Vietnamese pianists and piano professors. Graduated from Kiev National Conservatory of Music in Ukraine she also holds a Doctor's degree from Moscow National Conservatory “Tchaikovsky”. Dr. Tran Thu Ha is now Rector and Principal Piano Professor of Hanoi National Conservatory of Music. She has trained many generations of excellent pianists in Vietnam, many winners of prestigious national and international first prizes and gold medals among them, and most of them are today eminent artists.
Besides training of talented pianists, Tran Thu Ha is one of the nation-famous pianists performing at many concerts in solo piano recitals, as a soloist with orchestra, and chamber musician as a member of Hanoi Quintet. Tran Thu Ha has performed in Vietnam and abroad and her performances have been highly and widely appreciated. In addition to training and performing, she also participated effectively in scientific research and was involved in some scientific issues at the state level, as well as at the ministerial level.
During her term as the Rector for the past five years Hanoi National Conservatory of Music become an advanced unit of the branch and has been given government Challenge banner for four consecutive years. On the occasion of 45th Establishment Day Anniversary, Hanoi National Conservatory of Music received a distinguished reward of Vietnam - the first independence medal.
Prof. Dr. Tran Thu Ha has been awarded with many important awards and national decorations for work in education, and in 2001 Dr. Tran Thu Ha has been elected into the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
