Ludwig Hornung was born in Bavaria in 1954, where he completed studies at the Grammar School of Music in 1974 before starting violin studies at the State College of Music in Munich, first with Professor Kurt-Christian Stier and later with Professor GerhartHetzel, the principal leader of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. At the same time, Hornung studied the viola and, additionally, Chamber Music with Professor Franz Beyer. He began his professional career in Freiburg/Breisgau as a first violinist in the local Philharmonic Orchestra. After two years he moved to the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has been the second leader since 1987.

Harry Christian was born in Timisoara, Romania in 1959, where he graduated from the local Grammar School of Music in 1978 before beginning his violin studies at the State Colleges of Music in Munich and Stuttgart, from which he earned a diploma in 1983. He began his professional career as the principal violinist of the Aix-en-Provence Chamber Orchestra in France. From 1987 on he has been living in Ausgburg, working as a violin teacher, an orchestra musician, and as second violinist of the Augsburg String Quartet.

Ludwig Schmalhofer was born in Bavaria in 1964 and graduated from the Grammar School of Mathematics in 1985 before starting his studies at the State College of Music in Munich. In Munich Schmalhofer, he studied violin under Professor Heinz Endres before switching to the viola under Professor Oscar Lysy and Professor HariolfSchlichtig, also studying Chamber Music with Professor Franz Beyer. His professional career began in 1990, when he was engaged as a viola player in the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he serves as the conductor of the Chamber Orchestra Bobingen and works as a viola teacher at the State College of Music in Augsburg.

Assia Chappot was born 1978 in Russia. From 1991-1995, Chappot studied under Professor Uzi Vizel at the Conservatory of Tel Aviv, afterwards continuing her studies in the same city at the Academy of Music. At Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, she studied cello under Prof. Julius Berger (1999-2002) and Prof. Jens Peter Mainz (2002-2004), achieving her diploma as an Orchestra Musician in 2004. In 2006 she earned her Masters at the same institution under Prof. Raphael Wallfisch. She has participated in numerous Master Classes, including those of Michael Strauss (1995), Bernard Greenhouse (Kronberg International Cello Festival, 1998), Prof. Siegfried Palm ( Mannheim and Liestal, Switzerland 2001, 2002), and Prof. Wolfgang Boettcher (Carl-Flesch Academy Baden-Baden 2002). Since 2004, she has been a member of the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
